And Youth Corner
YOU ARE AN OVERCOMER!
 "...I
write unto you young men, because you have overcome the the wicked one....I
write unto you young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God
abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.(First
John 2 verses 13-14)
Beloved
of God, as a single or youth, the Almighty God counts so much on you
to get His plans and purposes accomplished here on the earth.
Although
the above might surprise you, the truth however is that, it has always
been and will continue to be a way the Almighty glorifies Himself and
also promote men and women.
The
beloved Apostle John wrote "...I write unto you young
men, because you have overcome the the wicked one....I write unto you
young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you,
and ye have overcome the wicked one".
He
understood the enormous strength that God releases to the youth, any
youth that will allow God glorify Himself through the life of such a
youth (male or female). He further explained the progression for overcoming
"the wicked one":
(1) You are strong
(2) And the word
of God abideth in you
(3) And you have overcome.
Let
us look at each of these three one at a time.
You
are strong -Beloved, this is the part that God has already
made you. God has made you strong as a youth. HE has given you every
strength that you require to be what HE created you to be.
Our
Lord Jesus Christ in a parable in St. Matthew Gospel chapter 25 verses
14-30 clearly declared that every youth, and indeed all humans have
at the very least a talent(strength, capability, or skill) from the
Almighty God. THIS IS THE REASON YOU ARE STRONG
And
the Word of God Abideth in you - This is the aspect that requires
your effort as an individual if you must overcome.
In
Genesis chapter 1, The Holy Bible reveals how the Almighty God created
everything on earth through His Word(with the exception of man which
He made in His image). This however emphasizes the importance of God's
word. So, for any youth that will be able to utilise God's given strength,
he or she must allow the word of God to abide in him or her. For the
word of God to abide in an individual, such an individual must first
of all know what the Word of God say and also do that which the Word
say. This is what moved Joseph from the position of a prisoner in Egypt
to a Prime Minister in the same nation(Genesis 39 verses 1-10). The
same also applied to Daniel(who though lowered into the den of lions
was not scratched by any)and his companions in Babylon in the Book of
Daniel - men that fiery burning furnace could not harm, because they
knew what the Word of God say and stood by it(Daniel Chapter 6, Daniel
Chapter 3 verses 16-18).
SO,
HOW MUCH OF GOD'S WORD DO YOU KNOW? AND HOW MUCH OF THAT ARE YOU DOING? This is paramount if you must overcome as a youth.
You
have overcome - Beloved youth, if the talent which God gave
to you must be put into proper use in order to give increase to you
and also give glory to the Almighty God, then you must know what God
say in all things and also do them. There is no other way of channeling
God's strength, talent, or skill to yield the kind of result you expect.
So, learn more about God, do that which you learn, channel your strength
into any venture of your interest which is not against God's guide for
humans, and you are an overcommer.
